Holiday Dates

We aim to communicate as clearly and as accurately as possible all holidays that may impact our community project’s availability throughout the year. However, due to the nature of volunteering in developing countries, holidays and closures can often be sporadic or prone to change at the last minute. With this in mind, we ask our volunteers to be flexible and appreciative when it comes to project availability due to holidays.

When holidays occur, this will usually offer a unique opportunity for volunteers to join in and enjoy the local festivities. On top of this, the local team will generally arrange alternative project work where applicable, including community classes, assisting on a different project within the community and more.

We have provided an overview below about each of our programmes that are normally effected by holidays. This will ensure you are better informed about project availability and what the alternatives may be before completing your application to volunteer.

Whilst we have made every effort to ensure the below information is accurate, the exact holiday dates can change sporadically and with short notice. Therefore, we have provided the typical periods below, but these are by no means 100%.

The majority of our wildlife, marine and medical projects remain unaffected by longer holidays. However, these projects along with the community programmes listed below may be effected by the odd public holiday throughout the year. When these holidays occur, volunteers should expect a free day with no project alternatives being available.
