Our specialist team know each and every one of the programmes we offer, so we can provide advice and recommendations to ensure you get the most suitable flight with regards to specific arrival and departure requirements, the time differences in each country, the transfer times from the airport to the accommodation and more. Not only this, but you can take advantage of our extensive experience and knowledge of the best routes to take to get you to your chosen destination - after all, we travel to our programmes a lot!

If you are heading to one or more of the destinations we offer or are planning to do some independent travelling after your time with us, then our team can also help create personalised itineraries.

How to book your flights

Although we no longer book flights on your behalf (due to the pandemic!), we can still provide full assistance and recommendations to ensure you are 100% happy and confident when booking. When you first sign up to volunteer with The Mighty Roar you will gain access to your pre-departure volunteer handbook that will have all of the important arrival and departure details, including correct airports, dates and times.

Once you have read through all of this information, we then recommend using a flight comparison website like Sky Scanner. Not only will you be able to see the range of prices, but you can also see what airline and route / duration is best for your requirements and budget.

After finding what you believe the best option is, you can simply send these over to us and we will be more than happy to check that everything is correct and meet's the programme requirements before you go ahead and book them. If you are still unsure where you need to fly to or have any other concerns, then simply get in touch with us earlier and we can help walk you through the whole process.

We have also included some useful tips below that may aid you when searching for the best flights.

• We strongly recommend that you do not make any flight and / or third party travel arrangements until your place has been confirmed via email by The Mighty Roar. Please note that we cannot accept standby flights, all flight details provided to us must be fully confirmed.
• Once you have signed up to volunteer with us, we strongly advise booking your flights as soon as possible. This will generally ensure you get the lowest airfare. However, it can also help to monitor the price of your chosen itinerary over the course of a few days to see what the average is.
• The cheapest flight option is not always the best. Having multiple stops within your itinerary has more potential of causing disruption to your journey, which ultimately could lead to more costs and an unpleasant and long experience - not something you want before volunteering!
• There may be times when changing your flight dates by a day or two provides substantial savings, so this is always worth checking and bearing in mind. We may not be able to accommodate you within the volunteer accommodation outside of your selected dates, but can provide hotel recommendations etc...
• For extra peace of mind, you can purchase your flights using a credit card. Credit cards generally have greater powers and protection in the event something does not go to plan.
