TMR Sri Lanka sea turtles & dogs
I went to Sri Lanka and did the sea turtle program and also helped on the street dog project. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. The highlight of my experience was seeing a female lay eggs. I have seen this so many times on the TV but to witness this with my own eyes was just an experience I will never forget! Sri Lanka it's self is a such a beautiful country all the locals are welcoming and kind. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. I have one regret not staying for longer!!Medical elective in India
For my elective, I travelled to the North-western state of Rajasthan and stayed in the state’s capital of Jaipur. Wow! What an amazing experience I have had on my elective to India. I feel so fortunate to be able to have been given this opportunity through my medical degree, but also for the amazing team at The Mighty Roar for making this possible. This has been an experience that I will remember and use for not only my career, but also for the rest of my life. Thank you TMR for everything! You are all stars!!Ghana childcare and medical
The best time of my life in Ghana. I participated in both the childcare and medical programme in Busua, Ghana over a span of 2 weeks. This was my first time solo travelling, but I made the most amazing friends both on the aeroplane and out there!! There were about 12 of us all together this early in the year which was the perfect amount! The local team were super friendly and there for all of us the entire duration of the trip. I’ve made many of my favourite memories here and definitely plan on returning to the beautiful village of Busua!Teaching English On The Beach In Bali
Travelling the world has always been a dream of mine, but having never been away from home for longer than a week, uprooting my life for two months on the other side of the world seemed something completely infeasible for me. The Mighty Roar came with the best reviews and Bali seemed the obvious choice. I have many incredible Bali memories, from the Gili Islands to Nusa Penida, Canggu to Ubud, but my highlight has to be the time spent within the local community.Undertaking my medical elective in Vietnam
I signed up for the medical programme in Vietnam. I chose Vietnam as it was a country I’d always wanted to go to as it looked to exciting. I was on the programme for 3 weeks and was able to experience different medical and surgical specialties in a Vietnamese hospital. I also had the opportunity to speak with university students studying, which was very interesting. Overall I would highly recommend taking your elective placement with The Mighty Roar. You will learn so much, make lots of great friends and have plenty of opportunities to travel and explore the country.Sri Lanka travel & volunteer experience
I volunteered on the Sri Lanka Experience Programme in August and was there for 3 weeks. It was my first solo trip outside of the UK; thankfully, I couldn't have chosen a better company to start my adventures with. During my time in Sri Lanka, I was able to get involved with so much, the local team were absolutely incredible and the other volunteers were super friendly. My overall experience was incredible; you really won't believe how quickly the time goes. To this day I still talk about it all the time. I've been inspired.Diving into marine conservation in Bali
An unforgettable three week volunteering experience helping on the marine conservation project in Bali. Through my time spent in this mesmerising tropical paradise, I immersed myself in the world of scuba diving, coral reef conservation and the vibrant culture of the island. I would wholeheartedly recommend this endeavour to any traveler with a love for exploration, a passion for animals, an affinity for sun-soaked shores, and an unwavering desire for fun. I have now volunteered on the childcare programme in Ghana with The Mighty Roar twice and I am already planning my next trip back to Busua! Both of my times volunteering have far exceeded my expectations, with everyday offering a new experience allowing me to see what life is really like in Ghana, whilst also making incredible friends along the way. In April, I went to Sri Lanka on the 2 week Travel and Volunteer experience and had the BEST time! The experience was the perfect idea as it meant I could take part in a meaningful project while still getting to explore the beautiful country of Sri Lanka on my holiday from work. It was my first time travelling completely by myself and the team, both in the UK and in Sri Lanka, made it really easy for me. If you're in any doubt of going on a trip with TMR, this is your sign to do it! I'm so grateful to the whole team who gave me this incredible experience.
