Under 18 but still want to volunteer abroad? Well look no further! With The Mighty Roar, your age won’t stand in the way. We have over 20 projects for 17 year olds in some of our most popular destinations.

You will get to travel to some of the most amazing parts of the world, where you will get to explore a new and exciting country with your new found friends. Whether you are releasing baby sea turtles in Sri Lanka or looking after children in Bali, your time will be spent helping on rewarding and fun programmes.

All of the programmes include extensive pre-departure information and support, as well as assistance with all aspects of your trip from our UK team. Our dedicated in-country co-ordinators are there to provide you with local support throughout your placement and depending on which programme you choose, also your airport pickup, orientation, accommodation and meals.

Our structured and safe programmes mean volunteering is ideal for first time and solo travellers. Our pre-departure buddy lists and dedicated Facebook groups allow you to talk with everyone going at the same time as well as previous participants.

Sri Lanka Sea Turtle Conservation

Help to protect and conserve endangered sea turtles by volunteering at our sea turtle hatchery. We are proud to be the first and only 100% ethical programme in the whole of Sri Lanka where you will get involved with all aspects of true conservation. See wild turtles come up to nest on beach patrols, release baby turtles into the sea and so much more!

Bali Marine Conservation

We urgently need support from volunteers from around the world to help restore and protect the coral reef in picturesque Tianyar. What once was a highly biodiverse and healthy 3 kilometre reef, it is now in a poor condition due to many years of unsustainable fishing practices and from pollution. Spend your days building artificial reefs and once per week scuba diving.

Be at the forefront of marine conservation by diving up to eight times a week across four different sites. You will work alongside the local community to deploy artificial reef structures around along the North coast of Bali whilst also carrying out research and ID dives. Montenegro Dolphin Research

Gain real life experience as a marine biologist as you contribute towards important dolphin research. The picturesque bay of Kotor is a biodiversity hotspot and officially the deepest fjord in the mediterranean - making it a perfect home for bottlenose and striped dolphins. However, due to increasing threats the species is now at risk of disappearing completely from the Adriatic.
